To give you some inspiration, we have come up with a few ideas that should keep all the family smiling come rain or shine!
Head out for a walk or hop in the car to the nearest picturesque spot, put a blanket down and let the kids get creative with paint, pencils and paper… and don’t forget to join in, you will find it surprisingly therapeutic even if your drawing skills are pretty basic! You can check out our huge range of art supplies online at our sister site Crafts4Kids.
Teach your Kids to Bodyboard
As soon as the sun comes out, pack the car up and head to the coast and for something different, swap the buckets and spades for beachwear and bodyboards! It’s not always the warmest on the UK coast so make sure you pack wetsuits so that you don’t fall at the first hurdle with grumpy, soggy children! Click here for all your surf essentials.
Host a Children’s Tea Party
This is a great activity for all ages and if the weather isn’t kind, it can be easily brought indoors. For the little ones, set up a blanket with pretend play food and cups and give them a jug of water so they can serve their own ‘tea’! For the older children, get them baking in the kitchen and invite their friends over to enjoy the cakes together. Check out Crafts4Kids range of tea party accessories.
Go on a Glamping Adventure
Give the kids a taste of the outdoor life with a glamping trip - all the benefits of camping without the boot full of kit and tent dramas! Away With The Kids offer a huge range of glamping holidays and Little Surfers has a great VW range for camping essentials… don’t forget to pack the marshmallows for toasting!
Go on a Bug Hunt
For a fun, educational activity let the kids explore the garden or woods and see if they can tick off a list of bugs to identify, and if they are brave, they could collect their finds in a bug catcher so they can examine them a little further! You can then finish off with a good old-fashioned bingo game – of the bug variety! Shop all things bugs and butterflies here at Crafts4Kids.
